I forgave my mother long before I went to therapy. During therapy is when I started to understand her. After therapy is when I was able to have compassion. #TherapyWorks

Hey There, so sorry for the late reply. I have a son that had a traumatic brain injury on Feb 23rd from a hit and run car accident. Your question is a good one and not at all seen as argumentative. Yes, I do believe that forgiveness did start the healing process. I could not heal though from the side effects until I did the hard work of first processing the feelings and then looking at how it is affecting my life now and work to rethink, reprogram, and change behavior that does not serve me well.
